Testing some lighting ideas to broaden my skillset to be able to shoot wide open. Using a large (86") umbrella covered with a diffusion fabric. I was trying to imitate window light with a bounce card on either side about a foot away. I used my lowest powered flash in the umbrella to give me a weak enough light source to shoot wide open. With my ISO at its lowest setting I was not able to weaken the strobe's light output any further nor did I want to change the quality of light from such a large source by moving it away from the subject. I employed a 3 stop ND filter to help kill the excess light. This was one of my favorites from this shoot.

We wanted to create a dark image using only one light. I tried out different light modifiers but the 'normal' reflector did the trick. It came out exactly the way we wanted. I put the flash almost directly above her. The model did a lot of poses till we found the one that worked best for this type of lighting. It was very good teamwork.
