Love this - fantastically sinister with great use of light.

How did you get the light so focussed on the face? Did you apply any photoshop filters after (I'm guessing perhaps a high-pass filter and a vignette..?)

Actually there really isn't much editing here at all.I think the strongest editing I did was a curves adjustment to darken the blacks and enhance the whites. The flash was more on my right side than my left so that is how I got the light on my face.

BTW those are 2 black yard bags zipped tied to me along with chocolate syrup (which was hand flicked all over me) to look like blood. It's an old recipe that A. Hitchcock used in his B&W movies.

I shot this on a short light stand with a Nikon SB-800 triggered with a cheap ebay remote. The flash was just below me about 2.5-3 feet and about 1 foot away from me. Camera was shoulder high and about 4 feet in front.
Flash was shot though a white umbrella on 50% power.
