How far was the background? And what was its color?

The background was a crappy black muslin (too thin) about 6 feet behind model... it was black

Additional Notes

This is my wife. She was kind enough to be my model in my first attempt at rim lighting. It took a while to figure it out. The key was to have her stand 2 feet in front of the two softboxes that were facing each other. I used Alien Bees 800 on both softboxes at full.

In post, I only cropped slightly and did some minor dodge and burns.

Please give me some feedback (on the photo, not the model... I know I'm lucky). Thanks
